Our Children's Ministry includes a brief time in their lesson each Sunday to discuss the month's topic in a “Prepped & Primed” moment. 

Our Children’s Ministry also follows up each Wednesday with more on the same point.

FAQ

  • Our Sunday morning services at each campus offer activities for children (infant-5th grade).

    In addition to Sunday morning services, our Barboursville, Saint Albans, and Teays Valley campuses offer children's ministry on Wednesday as the church gathers for Groups.

  • Your child is important to us. On your first visit we need the following information: parent/legal guardian names, children's names and birthdates, grade, address, phone number and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for each child. This information is entered into our database to help maintain our secure check-in system. You can pre-register your child before their first visit by using the pre-registration link above.

  • Your child's safety is our first priority. We use a security tag system for child check-in and pick-up.

  • Yes. Regardless of the role they play, every adult who serves in Gateway’s children’s area has passed a background check. We prohibit any adult from being alone in an enclosed area with a child.

  • We use a text system for parents/guardians in case we need to reach you during a worship service.

  • If you are dropping off a baby/toddler who is not potty trained or being potty trained, we would like to ask you to leave a bag with all the supplies needed to change your child.

    If your child is under 3 and requires food/snack/drink during service we ask that you provide that for the teacher at drop-off. Please keep snacks nut-free.

  • We follow a red, yellow, and green light policy!

    RED LIGHT (try again next week)

    • a fever of 101 degrees or higher

    • wheezing or shortness of breath

    • hard cough

    • constant runny nose with yellow/green tint

    • lethargy

    • diarrhea or vomiting

    • redness or runny eyes

    • sore throat or swollen glands

    • undiagnosed rashes

    • persistent itching

    • uncovered sores

    • unusual color


    YELLOW LIGHT (Join us if a parent/guardian can check in a few times)

    • fever-free for 24 hours

    • sporadic cough

    • minimal green/yellow runny nose

    GREEN LIGHT (okay to come in and play!)

    • mild, Infrequent cough

    • clear, runny nose

    • active, playful, and rested!
